Really, it became my baby and all problems became my fault on 5/16 when I gave the go-ahead to shut it down and throw it on an airplane.

It's slowly getting there, though.

I'll be curious to see how PM's do. Thought maybe it was a problem with allocating extents too frequently, but with the system showing 10% space available right now, that can't be it.

The contractors noted that FTP'ing from a webserver to a database server was moving really slow. The internal network's switch is the Dell 2508 that lost a port just 2 or 3 days after being installed. Could be that it's got other "issues".

So I replaced it today with a 16-port Hawking. We'll see.
