Nobody said anything remotely like that.

But NOBODY WANTS TO GO TO WAR. If a president deems it necessary to go to war it is his responsibility to make the case. Bush made the case. It is his job to emphasize those points he feels are important, and de-emphasize those he feels don't support his case.

If the president finds [as he did, correctly] that a war against Iraq will assist in protecting us against mideastern terrorists, then he damn well has an obligation to take us to war. Whether the American people comprehend the scale of what is happening or not, he has to do that.

Going to war is not a popularity contest (I know, I know -- Clinton used it like one, but that's not in the interest of the country).

You are one of the most simple-minded people I can think of.
