Minor point, but what was their motive for lying? Pay particular attention to explaining how an otherwise isolationist conservative Republican was in league with a liberal Labour party leader with an internationalist background.

Now maybe the members of MI-6 and the CIA who were members of the Trilateral Commission manipulated these two for their dire ends. But again even then - what was the motive?
