Considering the tanks in those trailers were full of aluminum salts, I would say they used the method I described. It was not necessary to make the hydrogen cheaply, it was necessary to make it next to the artillary. Hooking up to the methane pipes is not an option. US officials were not surprised by the lack of traces of any bioagents, because they did not expect to find any. Traces of sodium azide, urea, and aluminum were found on the trailers but officials were unable to say what significance those materials had."
