"You are simply living on borrowed capital Solon"

Whatever this means to you, it certainly informs nothing we are discussing.

It simply means you have no sufficient basis for morality so you borrow Theistic categories and paste them over top of your own. You are like the judge who "knows pornography when he sees it" but has no basis to impose that on anyone else.

If you don't believe in God, but do believe in evolution, then reason would lead you to be a social Darwinist.

"although Social Darwinism still has adherents, it is certainly not synonymous with rationality--nor does it advocate cruelty or lack of compassion. Stalin's opinion that might is right is certainly not a prevalent one, no more than the Church murdering millions over the centuries has the support of civilized, rational, and humane people."

Not exactly because while the church did some bad things they are in fact inconsistent with Christianity while Stalin was perfectly consistent with Darwinism.

Might is right = survival of the fittest.

You want to drag in emotion to temper this when really there is no rational basis to do so. I am reminded of the Walrus and the Carpenter.

"I weep for you," the Walrus said:
"I deeply sympathize."
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.
