You mentioned advertising in another post.

The off-topic stuff in the political threads and the tripe in some of the other threads is a big problem when trying to get advertisers. Advertisers who want to sell market-related products or services want to put their ads in front of people who actually are active in the market and care enough about it that they're talking about the market.

Don't overestimate the "ad views" value of tripe.
