I wouldn't call 12 years of diplomatic attempts at resolving the situation, which Saddam continually inhibited, a rush to war. The line had to be drawn somewhere.

He supported terror efforts, which has been well documented, including payments of suicide bombers. Saddam made it very clear that we Americans were his enemy. Give this man more time to develop, produce and find ways to export terror and he surely would. The longer he had, the higher the probability, hence imminent.

The entire world knew that Iraq had WMD, a documented fact. The issue was that there were quantites unaccounted for by the regime. Their claims that they were destroyed (only after we presented the fact that they were unaccounted for) lacked ANY credibility. I don't recall the administration claiming that Saddam had HUGE AMOUNTS OF READY TO USE WMD's, but even if they did, you realize that huge amounts could fit into the shed in my backyard..we're not talking about acres of storage silos. What I don't get, is that you said that even if these are found it wouldnt matter because the "Bushies" are already proven liars. They're liars because they haven't found the WMD, but if they do, they're still liars because it was already proven? Logic? |
