Least We Forget.

With the failure to find the WMDs that were used to justify the launching of the Iraq War, attention has returned to the arguments that were used in an attempt to justify the war. The Dems are bypassing the only opportunity they have to win the next election, if they let this debate pass them. Rather they should seize this chance to first “heat up” the debate, and then use the engendered political pressure to investigate the source of the forged documents about Iraq’s nuclear program. Those forgeries didn’t appear out of a void. The childishly incompetent forgeries make it unlikely that they are the product of the CIA. My best guess is the Office of Special Plans (OSP) that Rumsfeld set up in the Pentegon – but it’s just a guess. I have no way to know, but I suspect that the current administration would go to great lengths to “cover up” any indication of “Iraq evidence manufacture”. It is exposure of that evidence manufacture (and any criminal cover up) that is the Dems best hope.
