Saddam was hardly any threat to our armed forces in Iraq when we were invading, why would be be any threat to us at home?

Using that logic we should just take over the entire world in the name of "peace and freedom". Such hogwash. Also, Bushies ignore the fact that we've created a lot more hate against America by pushing the war too brazenly. If it had been handled in a bi-lateral way with some of the more neutral countries with us then we'd have supreme credibility and lots of help settling Iraq after the war.

The war itself was the easy part. But Bush went ahead and declared victory. What victory? We occupy Iraq. And thank God our troops weren't hit harder. But the price we paid for this war was enormous. 10 months of economic paralysis for one thing. 2 million lost jobs. And are we safer today? If Saddam was not intending to attack the USA, then no. Not really at all.

Bottomline, any reasonable person would concur Saddam was a minor threat - maybe. That's it. But he was sold to us as if he were Hitler invading Europe.
