Jack, this may interest you: On my way home tonight, the public radio station market news announced that Prince will be selling a too be released album over the internet. If, he says, he receives at least 100K orders, it will be released. The financial backers to Prince objected to the release because he was doing this on his own! They told Prince that he could lose thousands of dollars in revenue from advertisements related to the release if released in the normal fashion through a C.D., record store, etc.

Interestingly, if Prince (although I'm familiar with the name, I'm not excited about the figure - old fashioned?) does move forward with this music release, how many other artists would release music in the same manner? We could technically test new releases prior to purchase - it opens a whole new area for the Jaz drive and increased hard drive demand!
