I think it's more humorous , that he states in the last 1/2 of the 20th century , these parallels have been stidied and found that challenge the origins of these Christian hallucinations....I mean mass hysteria ...well superstitions will do fine enough.
But of course these studies started to arise and could only be brought to light in the last 1/2 of the 20th century brian , for you would be excommunicated , banished , estranged from "good Christian" society in times before ...heaven forbid you should discover anything new.
...or more sadly , a little over 2 centuries before you would possibly have been burned at the stake , thrown in a dungeon , persecuted and worse etc . But that must be one of Satan's lies too...
