my initial attraction to HEC was the colombian play which as we all know deteriorated with the guerilla warfare and questionable financing. i had made enough on the run up to $7 and sold off gradually from that point until i dumped the remaining shares i held when the r/s was announced in oct/nov of 2000. long term debt still unattractive at this point but they seem to be progressing with answers to their short term debt....their domestic oil and gas interests have perked up and appear to be the focus of their current business interest.....am still hopeful that one of these days they hit an international elephant........ prices at these levels should be well within the support levels of current management and appear to be safe entry points....... bwtfdik.......... regards. rfb
