They believe, rightly or wrongly, that Israel is kicking their ass using American weapons. Take America out of the picture and the story would have a different ending. CB, up until 1967 America did not show a preference for Israel and did not arm them. Did the story have a different ending? In fact the first American "preference" was ficticious - Nasser falsely claimed that the American Air Force had entered the Six Day War on Israel's behalf, because it was less shameful to lose to America than to Israel. It was generally believed, of course.
