Patron/Myth:

I agree that it has been "trying" this Spring if one has been wearing the Darth Vader cape (spent more than my share of time in the deep end of the pool). That said, current stock prices sure do bring the saliva to the lips.

Not going to do anything too aggressive yet, but sure as heck intend to stay out of the fox hole for the next few weeks as "warnings" period broadens. This market looks tired to me and we have a bunch of twitchy fund managers who have played "mo-mo" but aren't comfortable with it. I think they "sell first and ask questions later" if we get a couple of "triggers" and this could really stampede the herd.

As you both know, I am usually ultra conservative in my approach to shorting, and spend more than my fair share of time either in the fox hole or hunting the "mortally wounded". Probably dead wrong, but it sure smells like we are on the edge of a consequential downdraft and there are many itens out there that could trigger it. With the market having come so far, with many institutions low on cash and "antsy", and with plenty of bad news about to be dumped on the hopeful lambs, it strikes me that the current risk/reward ratio is quite acceptable vis-a-vis a few weeks of short side exposure. One can always "box" if things start to move the wrong way.

Not trying to persuade anyone, just providing a perspective.

Best, Earlie
