I think that often the use of the word "Jew" is confusing. It denotes religious affiliation, but also (very unclearly) implies ethnicity. Are any of the very numerous Jewish atheists and agnostics still "Jews"? Can one define a people by their religion alone?

Israel is a largely secular country, but because it is populated by Jews, many tend think of it as a Theocracy... -g/ng.
