here's a non-technical description of the high port densitymodem card: "each modem consists of a DSP chip and two little chips to control it on the other side of the board." Don't give a hint to where you got this highly sensitive information or I'll be in RBT (Really Big Trouble)! I know I agreed not to talk about circuit card design but couldn't resist passing on this kernel. Dee Jay
