In order for Israel to survive spiritually, there must be a Palestinian state on the west bank with borders close to pre 1967 war. Labor started settlements to prod the arabs to the table. Likud turned these settlements into Greater Israel ideology. Now the settlements are facts on the ground that need to be dealt with. As i understand it, small territorial adjustments can capture most of the settlements within agreed to borders with israel ceding other land to balance it off. Most jews know the arabs aint going anywhere. Most arabs dont accept this about the jews and thats the core problem. mike
