?I am just sensitive to analyst downgrades based on what happened last summer. Those downgrades, among other things of course, really brought the market down. I am in the mood to be careful.

My take is that analysts are only able to create a short term pullback..especially given how the downgrades have been coming. The relative value of holding cash is way down and investors will hold on to speculative cyclicals like this sector. Investors can also buy dividend paying stocks instead of being in cash and of course this type of investor behavior becomes can cause a chain reaction in the entire stock market.(that might be at work right now)

I don't believe there is much Asian competition to the equipment stocks and that is a big bonus, imho.

Analysts can't move stocks much..and not for very long. It seems to be liquidity that is at work and to me that says this sector gets launched higher given the incredible skepticism I see. Not enough supply of stocks....will likely lead to short squeezes in smaller semi names, which becomes contageous..and helps the equipment stocks too.

I just think it is different this year.

jmho.
