Bob,

Hope Andy won't mind this discussion since it relates directly to your question on CCI and SPNSF. What you see is CORRECT. Here's what Lucus and LeBeau have to say on the subject in their book entitled "Technical Traders Guide To Computer Analysis of the Futures Market." "...CCI is usually displayed as an oscillator or histogram that ranges above or below a null or zero line. Since the index measures how far prices have diverged from a moving average, the CCI allows us to measure the strength of the trend. The theory is that the higher the CCI value the stronger the trend and the more profitable a trade in the direction of the trend is likely to be."

CCI is a complex indicator that few understand. It's a very good "leading" indicator but its signals must be confirmed. That's why I use Macd(5,35,4. Most all charts I upload show the CCI/Macd relationship.

Try thinking of CCI as a momentum indicator of sorts. Remember, a body in motion (trend in this case) tends to continue in motion for a period of time. Review my charts for a better understanding of CCI (at least I hope it leads to a better understanding).

Good trading,
Bill
