"And the Vietnamese set themselves on fire as a protest ..."

That's harldly violent, LOL.

The other example I gave was, and I we where talking about fanaticism. Not all fanatics express their fanticism as violence towards others but there was plenty of fanaticism to go around in Vietnam.

You're comparing the first 7 weeks of a guerilla war in Iraq with the last 20 years of a guerilla war in Vietnam.

Tou are projecting the first 7 weeks in Iraq to be like the first 7 weeks in Vietnam that will lead to 20 years of Vietnam.

But even in the first 7 weeks of American involvment in Vietnam you had the North Vietnamese army to contend with, you had much more established and better organized guerilla units, you had more support from other countries, more difficult terrain, and a larger number of people committed to opposing the US.

P.S. Did you read the US documents I linked, or was I wasting my effort? Did you learn anything?

I glanced at them.

Why do you assume that disagreement with your ideas indicates a lack of knowledge or understanding?
