Its all a terrible thing Hawk. But winning the West Bank now at this time, is like winning the right to be the Roman Empire. Maybe the fence will work. Maybe Nato can keep the two sides apart. But israeli troops running the west bank will not be a good thing and will not have a good outcome. And yes the best the Palestinians have ever had it is when israel ran the West Bank in the earlier period. I suspect many Palestinians know and accept this too. Freedom is a terrible thing to waste and it has been wasted. The Palestinians have been so abused by their own fellow arabs and they need to find a scapegoat--enter israel. God, this could have been settled in 1947 and 1967 and 1999 but probably not any more. Bye bye Hamas. Hello hell. MIke
