PM: Abbas 'chick without feathers'
By HERB KEINON AND JANINE ZACHARIA

Calling Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) a "chick without feathers," Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told the cabinet Thursday he has no intention of delaying the war on terror until Abbas "sprouts feathers."

Sharon informed the cabinet that the IDF will continue to act against the terrorist infrastructure implying that the targeted killings will continue and said it was made clear to the Americans and the Palestinians that if the PA doesn't take action against the terror infrastructure, Israel will continue to do so.

Sharon, when asked at the cabinet meeting what the US thinks about Israel's policy of continuing to attack the terrorist infrastructure, said, "the Palestinians are acting like crybabies, saying they can't [fight terror], aren't able to, and that Israel is making it difficult for them. But our policy has been made clear and has not changed."

Sharon's comments come amid what Israeli officials said was a change of tone in Washington, which earlier this week rebuked Israel for its assassination attempt on Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi.

US Secretary of State Colin Powell, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer also made comments Thursday placing the onus for the violence squarely on Hamas.

"The issue is not Israel, the issue is not the Palestinian Authority, the issue is terrorists who are killing in an attempt to stop the [peace] process," Fleischer said
