SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jun 4, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- EduLink, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MYIQ) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Charles Guy III as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Michael Rosenfeld who shall remain as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Guy, while serving EduLink in a consulting capacity, has led the Company's effort to refine and develop a more focused approach for applying its core technologies. This new focus is intended to give prospective customers a simplified and practical description of the immediate functional and the long- term financial benefits that can be realized upon implementing this unique core technology, a focus that was designed to facilitate EduLink's intended evolution from a development stage company to a fully operational and revenue producing enterprise. This refinement has led to an initial product line redefinition based upon EduLink's core technologies now to be branded as its Knowledge Sharing System. The initial product line will include the Library, the Book Depository, and the Learning Resource Editor. The initial market for these products will be the K-20 education arena. Additional specialized markets will be developed in the near term.
Mr. Guy has positioned EduLink with opportunities to participate in a number of national pilots for the purpose of demonstrating the viability of the Company's product line, and its revenue-sharing and revenue-producing models. Moreover, Mr. Guy's involvement with such non-profit research and development organizations as the US Open eLearning Consortium and JES & Company has provided EduLink with the opportunity to implement its core technology as an integral component in the national and international movement to develop common standards for interoperability of all educational software and learning resources.
Michael Rosenfeld, former CEO and current Co-Chairman of EduLink, stated: "We are very fortunate to have attracted a man as versatile, creative and knowledgeable as Charlie Guy. He understands what large communities within the K-12 education sector require in terms of using technology in the classroom and the home. He has developed unique and trusting relationships with state and local leaders who are searching for a technology system which can be implemented in a constructive and secure manner to manage vast digital educational resources for the benefit of the student, teacher, administrator and parent. We believe that his new capacity as CEO of EduLink will facilitate the full use of Mr. Guy's managerial skills as well as his vast network within the international education marketplace. I had always contemplated stepping down as CEO of EduLink once we found an individual who had the intelligence, knowledge, strength, determination and leadership qualities that could facilitate EduLink's move to the next level, meaning from a development stage company to a operational and revenue producing enterprise. We believe that Mr. Guy is that individual."
Mr. Guy, in appraising his new opportunity stated: "I feel truly blessed in being granted this new opportunity at such a key moment in time facing the American, as well as the international, educational system. We believe that our technological solutions will greatly assist state departments of education and school districts to better meet the challenges and opportunities created by President Bush's No Child Left Behind education initiatives. Our revised and unique business model, which focuses on deploying our technology while making our potential customers true business partners has been well, received in these financially challenging times."
