Unfortunately, my office in the 980 building faces west, not east. I am currently enveloped in fog. It looks like late fall. The view of the lake from the east side of the building is stunning. I spent a chunk of my semi-mispent youth on the Oak Street Beach. Good memories. If I had a view of the beach today, it might serve as a magnet and my summer would not be very productive. <g>

My other office is in the CAA building which is across the street from Millennium Park. When the park is done, it is going to be magnificent, though having spent a number of years working at the Field Museum, I am more impressed with what has been done to the Museum Campus. I am not a big fan of Daley but he has certainly improved the downtown aesthetics. What the hell, if Chicago can't have a democracy, at least we can have flowers and trees. :)

BTW, I am envious of your overnights. Sounds incredibly therapeutic.
