Ziff Davis does not move the markets. They may be good at reporting on upcoming products and product review, but what in the world do they know about mergers and aquisitions?

It is to be expected that when two companies come together and as things change for the acquired company, people are going to leave. A couple of people leaving the company is absolutely not a sign that the whole merger is coming apart at the seams. Not to mention that ASND has the benefit of making a case study of the Wellfleet/Synoptics merger and will surely do all in their power not to make a repeat.

Don't you think that ASND management was asking, how are we going to put the two companies together and avoid becoming another BAY? Do you really think for one second they would enter into this merger without a well defined game plan?

Wayde.

PS
I thought people were leaving these companies to pursue gigEther jobs? While gigEther will offer some unique advantages over ATM (namely cost), there is really no evidence that gigEther will replace ATM. Actually, many companies are seeking networks which implement the two technologies together. Maybe, gigEther will even help ATM sales and ATM sales even help gigEther? Accounting and financial departments could be better served by gigEther and Marketing and R&D departments better served by ATM.
