I put "desire" in quotes because I was using it as a convenience, just as Darwin used natural selection as a convenience--not intending that either God or the virus was "selecting" in the manner of consciousness or ego.

As to referring to life-force as "God"--well, that is something that I am not qualified to presume. "Life-force" does just fine for me without adding a gratuitous underpinning to attract invented dogma.
