Sidney, We'll agree to disagree about the role that religion ought to play in the future of the planet. I find myself to be very comfortable with the views of the Enlightenment and the rule of law as espoused by the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. ****** OTOH, I find the Bible to be a xenophobic, superstitious, scurrilous and misogynistic collection of fantasy with only the loosest of connection to reality. In my opinion, reading the Bible as anything more than a historical record of the hysteria of mankind is dangerously delusional. Not that there aren't a lot of deluded people on this planet.
