Interesting, this debate about who is getting the better deal, Stornoway or Northern Empire.

Don't be so quick to judge. Remember the Aber Resouces Ltd. merger with Commonwealth Gold Corporation in 1993 and early 1994.

All the Commonwealth supporters were ticked that their company was sucked into Aber at 3-for-1, while Commonwealth and Aber shared a minority interest in the soon-to-be Tli Kwi Cho mine on a 2-for-1 basis.

Of course, when TKC turned into Dog's Balls and Aber started coming up with Diavik pipes, well, the shoe was on the other foot.

Then again, one of the nearly forgotten Commonwealth plays was a 40-per-cent stake in something called Camsell Lake, which subsequently produced the Snap Lake dike.

So, all's well that ends well.

Besides, you never know. Maybe both the Aviat and Churchill properties will turn out to be total duds.

Older hands might also recall that Aber had plans to merge with Dentonia Resources, but the latter "declined the offer" in early 1994. Many Aber shareholders are thankful to this day that the deal never was completed.

Regards,

WillP
