I solved the problem by taking the drastic step of reading the W98 manual <g>. Damn, I hate reading manuals. In 98 you go into Network and check File and Print Sharing. When you click ok out, there's a prompt to insert the 98 CD for a file. After reboot, the 98 computer shows up on the Network Neighborhood. You then just set up what to share, choose a password, and the files can be shared. Haven't gotten to sharing the printer yet, but I'm pretty pleased with a day's work. Time for a break.
