San Mateo, CA, June 16, 2003 -- SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCLN) today announced that it has been
selected to be added to the Russell 3000® Index. As part of Russell’s annual reconstitution of its equity indexes, additions
will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 and will remain in effect for a 12 month period. According to an annual survey
conducted by the Frank Russell Company, about $220 billion is invested in passive funds that use Russell's U.S. indexes as a
model.
