I haven't posted on SI in awhile. I started the Ligand Breakout thread some years ago.

As far as SARS is concerned, I think that the spread of the virus has been much greater than the spread of SARS and most of the isolates spread have a large number of mutations.

I expect the fall of 2003 to be much different than the fall of 2002. Time will tell, but most of the mutations that have accumulated have happened recently, so I think the human reservoir of SARS virus is a much great concern than the animal reservoir, which seems to have first created a significant problem in Nov, 2002.
