If I understand your concern, it appears to me that you are thinking that SARS Co-V may become more lethal in a health care setting because sick people may become infected with more than one deadly strain, which may recombine to form a more lethal virus.

Outside the health care setting, there is less chance for the virus variants recombining, so any mutation has at least as good a chance of being less lethal or at least neutral than more lethal.
