"The losses on both sides will have been so great that they would rather live in peace than continue the fight."

To many of the peop's it is not about what they have to gain or loose in the process, nor is it just to gain a peaceful coexistence. This should be evident by the fact that poeple are willing to go upset the "peace" process by going against automatic weapons with rocks, or by blowing themselves up to make a point.

It is complicated and to most it is probably about the usual stuff we fight over (realestate and social dominion). For others it is about a religious cause. Isreal was not founded just so the peop's of the tribes would have "a" place to live. It had to be "that" place and it had to be according to a doctrinal agenda. Israelites understand that as do many fundamental and evangelical Christians. Palestinians and their peop's understand it as well and have their own doctrinal agenda to uphold.

You and your peop's would like for it to be just about, who owes who a pound of flesh and what we can do to emeliorate conditions for the vengeful. That's part of it too, I guess.
