gst, i wouldn't call it a gift. it is really a gift to the govt. my point is that those who own about 70% of america's wealth have the responsibility to pay about 70% of its bills.

i agree with rd that the total bill ought to be smaller - AND THAT'S HOW YOU REDUCE EVERYONE'S TAXES.

no, i don't think those that own 70% of america ought to foot 90% of the bill for everyone else. that wouldn't be any more fair than if they foot 50% of the bill. both are bad.

you don't set the stage so those who own 70% of the wealth pay 60% or 50% or 40% of the taxes so the others have to pay the rest. that's bad for america.

other countries have tried that kind of tactic. it results in gestapos and / or beheadings of the elite.

all i'm talking about is simple fairness. some people's greed can't stand for fairness, though. their ego can't stand to be so darn selfish. so they spin.
