re: ATS (NYSE ADR - APT Sattelite Holding) $2.09 NEW PICK

Nyse: ATS added to the portfolio. Company is trading UNDER CASH, Satellite communication in Asia is a HOT market. IT'S an ADR trading on the NYSE. Very little debt and the company is also SOLIDLY PROFITABLE. On Yahoo message boards I do hear that China Satellites are FULLY BOOKED now. Also a good sign that we will be trading hihger soon. A final note, SARS will have a neutral to POSITIVE impact on this company - if more people stay home for fear of cathing a disease instead of gathering downtown - they are increase adressable AUDIEMCE for satcom

APT Satellite Holdings Limited is a provider of satellite services throughout the People's Republic of China (PRC) and elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region, through its subsidiary, APT Satellite Company Limited (APT). The Company's customers include many international broadcasters (including Disney, HBO, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Hallmark Entertainment, Galaxy, MCI Worldcom and Viacom), as well as prominent PRC, Taiwan and Hong Kong broadcasters (including CCTV, China Entertainment, One Leader and Po Hsin). The Company also provides telecommunications services to, among others, the China Telecom Corp. and China United Telecommunications Corp. (Unicom), the two main telecommunication service providers in China. They have contracts with all major chinese communication carrriers plus recently inked a deal with SingTel of Singapure.

Price/Book is 0.30. Despite the fact that the company is still RAMPING UP sales (early in the game), Price/Sales is onyl at 2.0 right now, PE of 15. Very low Debt/Equity of 0.14 and Current ratio of 5 just undersocre the solid financial position of this company. Profit margin 15%, Operating margin 12%. The company even paid a dividend and continually buys back own shares with excess cashflow.

Kudos to Arnold Silver for this find, who mentioned it on the Yeehaw thread a while ago.. I think it's a great find.

all the best
