hope you had a happy
father's day.

Yeah it was a lot of fun and the boys made some nice cards
and a few pencil holders for me.

We went to The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome with my inlaws.

It was cool. They put on a World War I airshow and flew some
some great looking biplanes and triplanes.

Otherwise I've been pretty busy.

The rain let up for a few days and yesterday I finally got
some vegetables in the ground. The garden is the smallest
it's ever been. This year I'm going to keep it simple.

The woodchuck was probably wondering when I was going to
plant his dinner. He's been looking rather gaunt. His
ribs are showing. Saw him pan handling down on the
corner. He was holding a sign saying, "Will work for
food."

He'll have to fight the rabbits to get to my vegetables
though. Only a handful of plants this time. The rabbits
put down their squeegies and are licking their chops.

Actually to fend off the plants this year I put a six foot
inflatable snake in the garden. Hopefully that will keep
the critters from eating everything. They'll probably just
laugh at it. Or perhaps the garter snakes will think it's
an inflatable sex doll.

One day I'll go down to pick a few tomatoes and see my
plants all eaten while the garter snake humps the
inflatable in the corner or the garden.

Anyhow, now that the plants are in the ground we are sure
to get a long dry spell. <g>

Actually more rain is due tomorrow. The trees seem to be
growing like crazy.

...so is the grass.
