They are still asking for the CDs in the drive!!

It's probably also to do with copy protection of the software. I have no problem with that, just I like to be independent of a single CD to run a program.

My first step is to make a accurate copy of the protected CD.

There is some very effective freeware to do this. It's a free trial, I have image files all my CD's now though, hey I might even buy it as it worked well for me. The "ISO" setting for file type seems to get around even the most stubborn protection mechanisms.

I suppose the next step would be to arrange that the software runs entirely from the HD. Something to put on the list I guess, not a priority right now.

rgds,

ps:- Re previous post. Just setting up the Epson software and checking out the utility program. I have not been able to print for weeks...

Reading up on the help files and keeping hands well away from the keyboard while looking at the software package... especially that "Y" key -g-

pss Forgot to mention you also get a virtual drive loaded !!! See software info on product.

Now I wonder if you can put a ISO copied "virtual" disk (i.e an image file) into it?? I expect so.
