TA- The UPS strike has been making me a little nervous as well. Maybe FDX would be one of the only major winners in a UPS-strike driven decline in the market. The strike gets me thinking a lot about whether DELL will see a disruption in sales. I also wonder whether there are ANY earnings numbers DELL can put out that won't put a damper in the DELL exuberance. Comapanies dependent on UPS, who were unable to secure service with other carriers, may soon start announcing disruptions in shipping, and of course suffer a decline in market cap. Anyone here know how VVUS ships out MUSE?

I doubt though that the strike will last more than a week. The people in charge of UPS will have to realize that their company will eventually go bankrupt if they don't work out a deal fast. Anyone with an important UPS package hanging in limbo while the strike goes on will be loath to use UPS again. Also, the teamsters will have to realize that bankrupting UPS will only make things worse for the striking workers. I wonder if FedEx and other carriers are taking advantage of UPS' misfortune by requiring new companies which want service to sign up for lengthy contractual periods. I know that many businessess that are flocking to the other carriers are being turned away right now. I've also been wondering if UPS has any legal liability toward business they signed shipping contracts with. I don't really know much about UPS since it's not publicly traded.
