I suppose this makes one proud to be a Canadian. Hats off to Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien. Despite overwhelming political pressure and public opinion which initially supported the war, as well as being America's closest political and economic ally, Chretien stood his ground and did not allow his country to embark itself into a war under false pretext.
