so much of the UK is Fabian Socialist

My view of the Fabians are they are a misguided bunch of daft loonies. In fact I fell out with the left and socialists in general long ago. It's just against my working class background ever to vote anything Conservative. Just can't be done, it's in the genes I think. -g-

I don't think the British government has a clue how to deal with the future as I see it. The USA seems to be in a similier condition.

Fact is.. governments rely on tax revenue to pay politicians wages, and there is a crude form of democracy in both our countries. Votes can count.

Therefore, for the government to rule, you need a national policy where people do have jobs and work for a living, so they can pay taxes. There is nothing left wing or right wing about that statement. It's a matter of real fact.

One wonders when the penny will drop

My political outlook is the best Conservative government has a good socialist sub agenda to make sure the population stays with it, and the public sector remains well organized. Similarly the best Labor Goverment has a strong commitment to the private sector as wealth is not created out of nothing, and centralzed government control is even more clueless then anything else we have.

Tony Blair should be leading here, but he lost the plot on Iraq and several other items. I supported our military (one of the minority here I think, they did a real excellent job) during the recent campaigns, but I don't see where we go from here. It looks like we picked up a few more "Northern Ireland" situations and that is real bad news.

Tony B update..

Just thinking about it, I would vote for any party that scrapped 90% of the regional governments. They are a gravy train way out of control. Mostly useless too. Trouble is they are about the only source of employment left that can pay a living wage as normally expected these days. Go figure where we go from here..

I watch for developments in wonderment. You gotta always see the amusing side of it -g-
