Thanks for your quick reply. I believe it was true once that SFE's stock ususally outperformed the companies it spun off, but given the last year, that may not even be true. And you can usually buy the rights for the exercise price anyway. So why hold this stock? I personally think the stock will do well, long term, and that the rights have the potential to hit a home run every now and then. Otherwise, as I've suggested on the SFE board, you can simply buy SFE and get about a 10%+ "dividend" by selling the rights when you get them, usually for $5 or more.

Of course, examining the spin-off and making independent judgements is also a smart way to play it. Anyway, just some thoughts while we wait for NM to do something.
