I think that is fine. Homosexuality is a fact in humans, and in the rest of the animal kingdom. If two people want to be together, and they are the same sex, why not give them the same protections that heterosexual couples get now? After all - it wasn't that long ago that people would have argued that certain races of people had less rights than others...wait a minute - something in the US Constitution about 3/5 of a person - right? Hopefully, we are evolving over time.
