Call it conceited if you will, but my take is that the world is a better place without saddam in power. The middle east is better off and the diplomatic hand of united states is strengthened now as a result. Imagine, no invasion. Saddam in power, Iranian theocrats butchering their youth with no fear of outside reprisal. Not so now, Iranian religious power brokers know they must use a gentler hand quelling dissent. Yes and I do believe the natives are better off now than they were before. Who in Iraq, other than baathists, are clamoring for the return of Saddam? I guess I am conceited in my views, can't help myself. Sorry.
