I'm aware of that, dingbat- -BUT AS THE COST OF IMPORTS GO UP (caused by a falling $) THEIR PRICES GO UP and that is reflected in an increased CPI- -assuming people are willing to buy the more costly inports.

For example, gasoline is one of the items in the full CPI (there is also an "ex-energy" CPI). As the price of foreign oil rises, gas prices rise. That ends up in the CPI.

Do you get it yet? Your argument is bogus.
