Dave, the next upgrade cycle for msft is late 98'. I see a big gapping wide open window of opportunity. I think Larry Ellison, Steven Jobs, Scott McNeally also see this. The Prince of Saudi Arabia is waltzing to a lilting Rhaphsody.

MSFT is all over the place with webtv, nbc yadda yadda.

If you have read Andy Groves book "Only the Paranoid Survive" he talks about strategic inflection points where business overcome or succumb. He also talks about how business at these strategic inflection points tend to stray off tangents of their core business.

When a company strays from their initial mission, you must question the validity of their core business.

I have seen many businessmen who were succesful and began to feel they had the Midas touch and every venture they entered would turn to gold. Some of these guys are in a way pushing a shopping cart down the street.
