From today's link:

The harsh ultraviolet radiation of the primordial Earth may have been the trigger that gave birth to the molecules of life, rather than the challenge they had to overcome, German researchers suggest.

From yesterday's link:

However, it seems unlikely that DNA could survive for long in the radiation in space. And even if it could it would not really help explain the origin of life because the time available since the formation of carbon is only just over double the age of the Earth.

One says that radiation formed RNA and the other says that DNA could not survive the radiation of space. It's all pure speculation. I say that God created the Universe and all that is in it. That's as plausible as any of these scientific theories. The Russian's experimented with radiation trying to mutate cells to create a higher form. In thousands of mutations most were damaging and only 5% were neutral and none, not one mutation was beneficial. If it could happen that life could spring forth from nothing naturally we would have been able to see evidence of that by now.
