I remember thinking the same thing in July 01 about the divergences my own systems were picking up.....it took me another 7 months to figure out why the divergences were not pointing to the trend changes; but were in fact part of the current trend, accompanying it as it continued.
In other words Divergences help characterize a trend in the present, authenticating it.

Dont make the same mistake I made, divergences are a part of the current trend, without them the trend wouldnt be what it is.
