Chris, nothing wrong with your reasoning. It is the old "any # that is better than expected is the one we grasp at to justify the bubble" game. And, remember, this is initial jobless claims. So, those 421,000 poor souls are additions to the mountains of folks already unemployed. Not to mention those who have become underemployed. I had a conversation with a woman who said her brother had been laid off from a $120,000 job, then rehired by the same co. at $13 per hour. Do the math. It ain't good.
