Why is it a turnoff?

If he had said "Lady Luck favored us" would you be as upset?

if he had said "our drive and determination won it" would you consider that an insult to the Nets drive and determination?

If he had said "talent paid off" would you have considered that a slap at the talentless Nets?

If he had said "we were the better team" would you consider that a blow to the Nets self-esteem?

Either God helped the Spurs, or God didn't. Nothing anybody says about it can change the reality. If God did help the Spurs, all he was doing is telling the truth, and can you fault somebody for telling the truth?

If God didn't help the Spurs, all he's doing is fooling himself, and aren't people entitled to be fooled from time to time?

If he had said "Zylog was on our side" would that also have upset you? Or "Superman gave us this victory" would you be offended because Superman is only a fictional character? But if you don't believe in God, then God and Superman are the same thing to you, so why would one upset you and the other not?

You're usually logical, but I don't think you've thought this one through.
