Why does the "Christian" GOP give to rich and take from poor? Clearly, this is what is happening. And the "poor" includes the entire middelclass, half the nation, who are going to end up with a larger load of taxes, plus fewer and fewer essential services, including education and health care. Also, degradation of the environment usually affects the poorer neighborhoods, as Bushies roll back environmental protections, so more and more toxins ingested by poorer kids. All in all, you can make a strong case for the current right-wing (hijacked by the oil and chemical cartels and most intolerant church groups) as being less than Christian.

The problem is the aliances made within the GOP right. Wedding big "dirty" industry with strict social conservatives, an unholy alliance if you ask me.

As for divorce, another rule of the church which is out-dated. Just like the anti abortion, sex education and contraception rules. The Vatican in particular is very slow to change rules made hundreds of years ago. Priests should be allowed to marry, for instance, then we wouldn't have all the child molestations.
